Port Beacon

Main access beacon to the port of Llançà.

With Ramón Pintó.

The beacon is proposed as a landmark of access to the port, as a glowing object in daylight and a lighthouse at night. The mast itself is both a beacon support, a ladder and access protection.

The three-dimensional formalization of the element with thin bars and the absence of structurally non-collaborating elements allow the optimization of the material used and therefore the cost. The low weight of the element allows for workshop assembly and easy transport to the site. The material, stainless steel, is of no maintenance.

Its formal characteristics: slenderness, transparency and visual lightness, evoke the typology of a cylindrical headlamp with helical uprights.
