Ibis Budget 22@

190-room hotel in the 22 @ district of Barcelona

The building is volumetrically organized into two blocks parallel to Ávila Street, separated from each other by an exterior patio and connected by a lateral passage. The two volumes that make up the building have different heights to allow better sunlight on the landscaped background. The separation between the two blocks serves to create an open space between them that guarantees ventilation and illumination in the rooms that do not face either the street or the interior free space of the plot.

On the ground floor there is an open passage that connects the street with the patio or landscaped interior free space located at the bottom of the plot.

The unoccupied area of the roof space of the block facing the street has been adapted to allow it to be used as a landscaped solarium.

The main façade responds to a composition where the glazed and open ground floor seeks transparency and permeability with the street, and the upper floors formalize an order in the grouping of windows that go from smallest to biggest until reaching the landscaped roof. All this in a dialogue with the heights and main lines of composition of the adjacent industrial buildings.
