Mapfre Foundation Museum

Art museum in renovated existing building.

The museum is located on the ground and first floors of an existing office building. The building has a spindle-shaped floor plan and was initially intended for various uses: commercial on the ground floor and offices on the upper floors with centralized access in the middle of the floor. The building and office floors 2 and 3 are rehabilitated, maintaining the existing access for such use, but generating a new and specific one for the museum. The new access that opens for the museum consists of emptying the corner of the building creating a visual end with a double height porch. The ground floor is dedicated to the complementary uses of the exhibition rooms and the auditorium located on the upper floor.
